Experience
- Represented Fortune 500 company in its acquisition of headquarters building in like-kind exchange that had a closing deadline of two weeks. Transaction included negotiation of long-term lease with Bank of America concluded within the same timeframe.
- Represented elderly owner of 75 acres of prime commercial property fronting on U.S. Route 13 in its redevelopment, including negotiation of long-term ground leases and personal planning for disposition of multi-million dollar real estate holdings upon owner’s death.
- Represents major national bank in $62,000,000 financing of the Town Center mixed use development in Virginia Beach.
- Negotiated master settlement on behalf of minority partner of federal court litigation with prospective joint venturer and related eminent domain proceedings for the condemnation of minority partner’s real estate interests, all in connection with a public-private real estate development of a 100-acre retail site.
- Negotiated on behalf of a family partnership as landlord a long-term subordinated ground lease for a 245-acre site leased to a private golf club and developed as a Fazio signature golf course.
- Represents retail developers in the leasing and development of community shopping centers of 100,000-500,000 square feet, including anchor tenant leases with companies such as Target, Home Depot, Barnes & Noble, Stein Mart and Kroger, and anchor tenant sale and leasing transactions with Bank of America, Wachovia Bank, McDonald’s, Ruby Tuesday and Chick-fil-A.
